| 3. | How do I get faster and more comprehensive live scoring for my MyFantasyLeague.com league?
Answer: MyFantasyLeague.com GameDay is an optional (and free!) program that runs on Microsoft Windows computers and has the following advantages over standard MyFantasyLeague.com live scoring:
- Faster Updates - MyFantasyLeague.com Game Day updates every 30-35 seconds, whereas standard MyFantasyLeague.com live scoring refreshes every 60 seconds.
- NFL Games View - this view allows you to see live scoring on an NFL matchup basis. This view is ideal to figure out, for example, if your RB on a given NFL team is not getting yardage, who else on the team might be getting the yardage.
- Top Performers View - allows you to see the top performers across all NFL games as the games are in progress.
- Touchdowns View - allows you to see all of the Touchdowns and Field Goals that have been scored at a glance as the games are on-going.
- My Leagues View - for those in more than one league, this allows you to see the results of all of your games in all of your leagues on a single screen.
- Custom Scoring Rules - full support of custom rules such as offense minus defense scoring that are not displayed by the web-based live scoring interface.
- Audio Integration - GameDay can announce to you when touchdowns and field goals are scored, when teams get into the Red Zone, when sacks occur, and more. You can select one of three "voices" to hear scores announced.
- Refreshes Even When You're Away From Your Computer - web-based live scoring will detect that you're not using it, and will automatically stop refreshing after about an hour. GameDay was designed for you to hear the scoring updates while you're away from your computer, and thus does not have this timeout feature.
- More Options - turn stats details on/off, turn bench player view on/off, sort Top Performers by various stat categories, and more.
- League Chat - new for 2008, your league chat is integrated into GameDay, so you can chat with others live while watching the games without needing to visit the web site.

When you click on this link, if you are asked whether to "Open" or "Save" the file, be sure to select the "Save to Disk" option. After it is installed, there will be a new icon on your desktop. Click on the icon to start the MFL Game Day program. To use the program, just enter your 5-digit league ID and click on the "Start" button.

| 4. | How do I Find my 5-digit League ID?
Answer: Your 5-digit league ID is the last five numbers located in your league home page address. To find this, go to your league home page, and then look in the address bar of your web browser. It will contain an address like: http://football8.myfantasyleague.com/2007/home/%LEAGUEID% - those last 5 digits (%LEAGUEID%) are your league ID.

| 5. | How do I get the new version of Gameday for the 2009 season?
Answer: If you already installed the program last year for the 2008 season, you can run it now and then click on the "Options" tab within the program. From there, in the lower left, click on the button to "Check for Game Day Program Updates Now".
If you've never used it before, or if the Update option doesn't work for you, then you can download and install it from this page.

| 6. | What do all of the abbreviations and colors mean in the GameDay program?
Answer: On the "Fantasy Games" view, you'll see the following columns. Some of them are optional and can be turned off with check boxes at the top of the screen:
Pts = Fantasy point total for the starting lineups
Pot = Potential points, or the best possible score that could be achieved by starting all of the right players
Ben = Fantasy point total for the bench players
IP = Number of players whose game is in progress
Time = Player minutes remaining for each franchise.
NS = Number of players whose game has not started yet
T = Points scored in the Thursday game
E = Points scored in the Sunday early games
L = Points scored in the Sunday late afternoon games
N = Points scored in the Sunday night game
M = Points scored in the Monday night game
The color of each player represents the following information:
White = Player's game is done and stats are final
Pale Yellow = Player's game hasn't started yet
Green = Player's game is in progress and stats are being updated
Bright Yellow = Player had a recent stat change sometime in the last minute
Blue = Player is a bench player
Gray = Player is a backup player
Other symbols next to players names include:
(R) = Rookie
(B) = Bench
(S) = Starter
[T] = Tiebreaker player
(IR) = Player is on the official NFL IR list
(O) = Player is listed as Out on the injury report
(D) = Doubtful
(Q) = Questionable
(P) = Probable
Graphic symbols represent:
(+) = Player is on the fantasy IR list
(Taxi) = Player is on the fantasy Taxi squad
(Up Arrow) = Player is on the bench but should have been started
(Down Arrow) = Player was started but should have been left on the bench

| 7. | Game Day says it doesn't recognize my league id (or, I entered my correct league ID, and it brings up a league that's not mine) - why?
Answer: This happens when you're running an out-dated version of GameDay. To make sure you're running the latest version, download and install it from this page, or click on the "Options" tab within the GameDay program and then click on the button in the lower left to "Check for Game Day Program Updates Now".

| 8. | I'm running a Macintosh computer - how can I run GameDay?
Answer: GameDay currently runs natively only on Microsoft Windows based computers. If you're running an Apple Macintosh, you have several options for running GameDay (as well as any other Windows program) on a Macintosh. A Google search for "running windows programs on a mac" is a great place to start to learn more about all of the options out there.
We've had some positive reports of people running Gameday on an Intel-based Macintosh under CrossOver Mac - it's a program that costs $60 to purchase, however, a free trial version is available for 30 days. Note that CrossOver is built on top of WineHQ which is a free (open source) project, although we have yet to receive any word from customers regarding running GameDay under WineHQ. If you're able to test this out, we'd love to hear how it turns out for you!
Keep in mind that GameDay is strictly an optional program - even with a Macintosh, you will be able to use our web-based live scoring pages for live scoring results.
As we grow, and as Macs get more popular, we hope to be able to provide a more elegant solution to this problem of running GameDay on Macintosh computers in the future.

| 9. | When trying to download gameday with Firefox, it says it will not allow the download because it has been blocked by my security zone. How can I fix this and download the program?
Answer: Depending on your Internet settings in Windows (from Control Panel > Internet Options) you might have issues with some downloads being blocked in the latest version of the Firefox 3 web browser.
To change the setting, open Internet Options (via the Windows Control Panel) and click the Security tab. With the Internet zone icon highlighted, click the Custom level… button. A list of security settings for the Internet zone will appear. Find the “Launching applications and unsafe files” setting (under Miscellaneous) and select “Prompt (recommended)”.
The other option is to use IE or another web browser on your system to try to download the gameday setup program.

| 10. | I'm getting a "Failed - Connection refused (Error #10061)" or a "Can't resolve host name to IP address" type of error message when I enter my League ID into GameDay.
Answer: That message typically means that your PC is blocking the GameDay program from accessing our server on the Internet. First, try selecting the "Use Alternate Protocol" check box option on the screen where you enter your League ID to see if that helps at all. If not, then double check your firewall software (or anti-virus software) to make sure they are not blocking the program. You may have to create a rule in your firewall software to explicitly allows the "GAMEDAY.EXE" program to access the internet.

| 11. | Why is the NFL Schedule incorrect, or why do some players appear on the incorrect NFL team in the GameDay program?
Answer: You can update all of the NFL Player and Schedule information by clicking on the "Options" tab in the GameDay program. Then in the lower left of that screen, click on the button to "Check for NFL Player and Schedule Updates Now". This will retrieve the latest NFL Player Transactions and Trades and update your copy of the program with the correct NFL team for all players. It will also update the NFL schedule if there have been any changes for the current week.

| 12. | I'm running Linux on my desktop machine - can I run GameDay?
Answer: Yes, we've received reports from at least one customer indicating that GameDay can run under Linux using the following instructions. While we don't have any first-hand experience with this (and therefore we cannot offer any additional support tips on this front), we wanted to pass these instructions on to you.
- Go to http://www.winehq.org
- Click the "Get Wine Now" link under "Download"
- Pick you Linux Version from the next screen
- For SuSE Linux, I then added the url for the rpm repository to Yast.
- Launch Yast, search for wine rpm and install/upgrade it.
- Once Wine is installed, install your application. Suppose Gameday.exe is in your Desktop directory:
cd /home/USERNAME/Desktop
wine gamedaysetup.exe
- Now that Gameday is installed, cd '/home/USERNAME/.wine/drive_c/Program Files/myfantasyleague'
- I had to run winecfg to set up the audio driver. It picked one automatically for me, and I just hit apply and everything was fine.

wine Gameday.exe
