Wondering why a few franchises do not use the Waiver  system but instead wait and use FCFS?

Kind of defeats the purpose of the original Waiver setup and that was a concern of mine opening up the additional Waivers.

Please enlighten the rest of us.

Sometimes (actually several recent weeks), I just forget that waivers take place on Wednesday night, and then realize that I have to pick up players on Thursday. I also don't understand what the downside is of teams using FCFS instead of the waiver system. Isn't it just a disadvantage for the franchises that do?

It's just easier to pick up the players after waivers for me

Waivers requests can be submitted starting on Tuesday's and are not processed until Thursday 12:00pm noon EST.

We'll let the FCFS ride for the remainder of this year but will have to bring it up for a majority vote next year to continue....we did not have a majority with the recent addition of the FCFS.

Seems like we just satisfied a few Franchise owners.

Actually it seems like 6 of the owners were on board. Maybe I can't count, but I am pretty sure.

I thought we had done this (solved it) last year like I stated in an earlier response. We can and should put it up for a vote in the off season though. I have no problem with majority rules.

Here is a good reason...Lets say I need to pick up a kicker.  Rather than submit a waiver for a stupid kicker and then go to the back of the order for the next week, I pick one up after waivers and don't drop in the waiver order.  Then if there is someone I really want to pick up the next week I am sitting in a better position to grab them on waivers.  Its just strategy.

Hawks, while I agree that that's the waiver system should work, I'm pretty sure the waiver order resets by record every single week.

You are correct sir.

You know, I thought the waivers system was a bit retarded.  I guess I assume every league is the same.  I'm in 4 and I can't keep track of em all.

Retarded? How's that?

Every League has it's Rules and I am kicking myself for being talked into changing our Rules from the way we have done Waivers for years. Actually I am at fault also since we did not take an actual Poll of all owners and get a majority.

Next year any Rules changes will be done in the off season.

Legends,

I so far fail to see in any possible circumstance how the current waiver system could be construed as inferior to the one prior. Could you elaborate?

Did I say 'inferior'? Don't think so.

All I am saying is changing Rules after the season has started without a majority vote approval should not happen.

Oh, okay. I thought you had a problem with the actual rule change, rather than the method.

What you said does make perfect sense. However, I am inclined to forgo any regret because i believe we had 6 out of 12 owners who approved the change and maybe one or two that responded otherwise. If people aren't willing to pay attention to the league, then I don't really care whether they agree to the rule change or not.
