(MyFantasyLeague.com Fantasy Times Sources - Dec 22, 2008) In a week 16 Central Florida Fantasy Football League showdown, Carolina Mercury embarrassed a hapless Pittsburgh Pumas team by a score of 89 to 62, extending the winning streak for Carolina Mercury to 4 games.

DeAngelo Williams

Carolina Mercury were led to their 27 point victory by a 32 point effort from DeAngelo Williams, who beat the New York Giants defense for 108 rushing yards and 4 rushing TDs. With this performance, Williams was the number 1 ranked overall fantasy scorer for week 16. They also got help from a 19 point effort from the Tennessee Titans Defensive Team.

"It wasn't pretty but we'll take it," Carolina Mercury coach Jason Geiger said.

Pittsburgh Pumas were helped out in a losing cause by a 24 point effort from Peyton Manning, who tore apart the Jacksonville Jaguars defense for 364 passing yards and 3 passing TDs in addition to 1 rushing yards. With this performance, Manning was the number 2 ranked overall fantasy scorer for week 16. They also got help from a 14 point effort from Larry Fitzgerald, who beat the New England Patriots defense for 101 receiving yards and 1 receiving TD.

"They've had our number all season," Pittsburgh Pumas coach Aaron Shawley said.

This brings the record for Carolina Mercury to 8-4-1, and drops Pittsburgh Pumas to a record of 7-5-1.
