| What did we do to our scoring system in the offseason??? Michael Turner rushes 22 times for 97 yards and scoress 3 TDs and notches 27 pts, yet TE Daniel Owen collects 8 passes for 95 yards and NEVER gets in the endzone and gets 17 pts?? Come on. I thought the point of football was to put points on the board, not play rinky dink dump passes. These 1pt receptions, regardless of value/impact, are lousy. Plan on a January rule prop from me to get back to a traditional scoring system instead of the new one we put in. Hell, WRs are more important than RBs. We're "innovators"!!

| I dont even need to check the scoreboard ... NOE lost I think the 1pt for reception thing is a little much (said that 2+ weeks ago). I think we should make it .25 per reception |

| Joe, This scoring system isn't supposed to be innovative. It's 95% WCOFF offensive scoring, with some minor tweaks. Consider the following stats: Top 30 scorers, Weeks 1-5 in 2009 (current system): QB - 15 RB - 8 WR - 6 TE - 1 Top 30 scorers, weeks 1-13 in 2008 (current system): QB - 9 RB - 14 WR - 6 TE - 1 Top 30 scorers, weeks 1-13 in 2008 (old system): QB - 10 RB - 9 WR - 1 TE - 0 K - 4 D - 5 I understand the point you are trying to make, but the stats don't backup your claim that WR's are more important that RB's. I don't see anything appealing about the old system where WR's were irrelevant. |

| A QB passes a TD and gets 4 pts. A running back runs 10 yards and gets 1 pt. Someone catches a pass at the line of scrimmage and falls forward and gets 1 pt. Seems way out of whack in terms of reward for the value of the action. Needs to be cut to .5 pts at the least, and .25 is more realistic. I don't mind WRs having more relevance - Ed's scoring system comparisons were informative. However, I think the way we've done it is rewarding a the act of catching a ball disproportionately. (how I spelled that right) 17 points for what Owen Daniel did seems out of whack to me in any league. |

| Here are more stats from a report that I stumbled on today. It shows that RB/WR/TE starters are basically of equal value. http://football8.myfantasyleague.com/2009/options?L=42533&O=23 Points per reception seemed odd to me until last year. I still don't like when a catch for 0 (or minus) yards = 1 pt. But to change the 1 pt per reception devalues WR's and TE's. I'm thinking out loud here - it might be nice if there was a scaling option where a catch for 0 or minus yards = 0 pts, 1-10 yards = .25 pts, 11-20 = .5 pts, and 21+ = 1 pt. But that option doesn't currently exist. |

| Ya, then we can add .25 point for a catch with two hands,.50 pt for a catch with the right or left hand, .75 points for a leaping catch and 1.5 for a catch with eyes closed. |

| We should scale it down to something like .25 or .33 pts per catch. |

| My only other concern about the scoring system, aside from the already-addressed 1-pt per catch issue, is the QBs getting one full point per 20 yards of passing. If you check out the top players (by average) it is pretty well dominated by QBs. Maybe giving them .025 per yard (one point for every 40 yards) instead of .05 would help level the field a bit.
